3 Ciders (and 1 Perry) for New Year’s Eve Midnight Cheers

What are you drinking on New Year’s Eve this year? We can only assume that you’ll be sipping some fine ciders throughout the night. But, when midnight comes, break out an extra-special bottle to toast with!

Here are a few of our favorite large-format bottles that give Champagne a run for its money (and cost a lot less money, to boot!):

Citizen Cider bRosé

Whether you’re getting the bros together for the night or you’re a rosé fan, give Citizen Cider‘s bRosé a try at the stroke of midnight. This cider rosé is made by three brothers in the great state of Vermont. It’s handcrafted by co-fermenting 100% Vermont blueberries and sweet cider pressed at Happy Valley Orchard in Middlebury, Vermont. And if your evening will also involve food (please don’t forget to eat!), Citizen Cider suggests pairing bRosé with lobster, blue cheese, aioli, bouillabaisse and tomato salad. JK’s Farmhouse Cider Northern Neighbour

J.K.’s Farmhouse Ciders is a family-owned farm in Michigan that produces natural and organic cider. Its Northern Neighbours Farmhouse Cider was produced in partnership with its Saskatchewan neighbors. The addition of Saskatoon berries to the freshly pressed apple juice adds a more considerable complexity, with a smooth texture and luscious flavors plus a hint of tartness for balance. Get down with our neighbors to the north and toast to the new year! Find Northern Neighbours and more from J.K.’s by using its cider finder.

Far West Cider Co. Proper Dry

Every bottle of Far West Cider is a product of its fourth generation family farm in San Joaquin County, California.  That means that all of the apples used in its ciders are harvested and pressed by hand on site, as well as tended to throughout fermentation, aging and bottling. Proper Dry uses a mixed blend of tart apples to highlight the crisp and clean acidity that comes along with them. You’ll notice a squeaky-clean and fully dry finish as you pop this open at midnight. Use Far West Cider’s cider finder to grab a bottle near you.

BONUS: Argus Vinho Pearde

Argus Cidery‘s Vinho Pearde is a one-of-a-kind perry achieved by using a lagering process. The result: sparkling clean pear on the palate. With tropical fruit notes on the nose, Vinho Pearde is medium-dry with a bit of residual sweetness and a slightly tart finish. Vinho Pearde is unfiltered, unpasteurized and free of any back-sweetening or added sugars. Pair this perry with a toast (and maybe a smooch!) as the ball drops! Find Argus Ciders in select states and retailers.

However you ring in the New Year, we wish you a grand time! Happy New Year!
