Dog-Friendly Cideries: Southern U.S. Edition Part 2

Welcome to the third edition (Part 2 of our Southern U.S. Edition) of Cider Culture’s dog-friendly cidery series. Our contributor and avid dog-lover, Samantha Story, will be sharing with you places where you and your furry best friend can unwind and grab a cider this summer. For more, check out Samantha’s first installment, covering dog-friendly cideries in the Northeast U.S. and the second installment, Part 1 of our Southern edition, here.

Part 2 of our Southern edition, our third installment in this series, finds us heading into the Deep South to find the creme de la creme of cider-centric locales that offer some serious puppy-watching for their patrons.

The Southern hospitality is real: from the Lone Star State to the Sunshine State, the South is all about cider fun-in-the-sun with your bestie. Let’s get started!

*We love our puppies and we want them to stay safe. Heatstroke is an unfortunately common occurrence in extreme summer temperatures. Please be sure to take care of your pet when you head out in the summer sun! To keep your pet safe, here are some helpful hints on what to avoid and what you need to look for to detect heatstroke in your beloved pet.*

Florida: Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks

Happy Hour is so much better when you have your furry bestie by your side! Accomplice Brewery and Ciderworks in West Palm Beach let customers do just that, with an all-day Yappy Hour on one of its Sunday Fundays. The best part is every guest who brings their dog receives 10% off their tab. What more incentive do you need?? 1023 N Florida Mango Rd., West Palm Beach, FL; (561) 568-7242.

Florida: Broski Ciderworks

If you and your pup are looking for relief from the hot Florida heat, head on over to Broski Ciderworks in Pompano Beach. Its menu provides a list of refreshing ciders to help cool you down. So leash up your furry friend and go relax the night away with cider made the Floridian way. 1465 SW 6th Ct., Pompano Beach, FL; (954) 657-8947.

Florida: The Spillover

The Spillover is not your typical cider-centric location. This restaurant in Miami centers its focus around cider, mead and sustainable seafood. Oh, and puppies! That’s right, cider fans, your dog is more than welcome at this location. How welcome, you ask? Well, as you feast on your pan-seared crabcake sandwich and sip on a glass of Spanish, French or American cider, your pup can chow down on a selection from Spillover’s very own Dog Menu. You heard correctly: Your pup can dine in style right alongside you. How fancy — and great — is that?! 2911 Grand Ave. #400d, Coconut Grove, FL; (305) 456-5723.

Georgia: Treehorn Cider

During the summer, guests and their pooches can enjoy some quality time together at Tree Horn Cider‘s porch. Here is some extra incentive to stop on in at this Georgia-based craft cidery: From now until Labor Day weekend, all guests that stop on by with their four-legged bestie will receive half-off their first drink or flight. Sounds like fun to us! 1395 South Marietta Pkwy. SE #130, Marietta, GA; (678) 503-5000.

Alabama: Avondale Brewing Co.

Avondale Brewing may be known for delicious beer, but we can’t ignore the fact that it also makes a stellar cider, too! But as much as it’s known for its beverages, Avondale Brewing is also known for dishing up a fair share of puppy love! It recently showed its support of Hand In Paw Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs on National Puppy Day by donating 10% of sales of its Battlefield IPA to the organization. 201 41st St. S, Birmingham, AL; (205) 777-5456

Texas: Texas Keeper Cider

If you didn’t know, now you do: Texas Keeper Cider is dog-friendly! We can say cheers to that! Take a seat on the patio with your pooch to soak in the warm southern sun with a glass of Texas Keeper No. 1. Just be sure to be courteous of other patrons and clean up after your dog, if necessary, so everyone can enjoy their visit poo-free. 12521 Twin Creeks Rd., Manchaca, TX; (512) 910-3409.

Texas: Outlaw Cider Company

#outlawpups, unite! Texas’ own Outlaw Cider loves its pooch patrons as much as its human patrons. Pups can enjoy a fun night out on Outlaw Cider’s patio area, while their human companions indulge in a sample session of the cidery’s fresh flavors. 112 E Texas St., Grapevine, TX; (817) 527-7868.
