Happy Friday, fellow #cider friends! May the 4th be with you! (I had to!)
The arrival of Friday means we’ve got a brand-new version of The Double Tap List for you, our weekly roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content on Instagram. There are a lot of buzz-worthy events this week, #ciderlovers! We bring you offerings of future festivals, Derby revelry, and I may or may not have snuck another puppy in this week. The owners of Right Bee Cider, Charlie Davis and Katie Morgan, have been setting #cuteness goals since they stepped out onto the cider scene, and they welcomed a beautiful baby boy last month! Right Bee Cider is Chicago’s first cidery, bringing you cider that is simple, crisp, and refreshing.

The Northman

It seems only fitting that we follow the last post of Chicago’s first cidery with a post from Chicago’s first cider pub and bistro, The Northman! Come out to the pub on Friday, May 4th, for a “May The Fourth Be With You” 2 Towns Ciderhouse’s celebration. It wouldn’t be May the 4th without a good ol’ Star Wars movie and that is exactly what The Northman will be screening, along with serving cantina cocktails, perfect for your Cinco de Mayo celebration. Two holidays, one big event — now that is efficient! If cocktails are not your speed, then have the bartender pour you a glass of the Northman Pub Cider, a not-too-dry cider made with Michigan heirloom apples. Or try a glass of Man Gogh, made with mangoes and habaneros, for a mouthful of yum!

Saturday, May 5th, is Derby Day! The 144th Annual Kentucky Derby is set to kick off Saturday evening and I know I’m not the only one who has their derby hat ready to go. Thor’s Hard Cider is ready for the big day with plenty of festivities in store. From 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., join Thor’s at its Stillwater, Minnesota taproom for raffles, food and ample amounts of cider and wine! Tickets are available on Thor’s Facebook page or at the door of the event.
Seed + Stone Cidery

For those of you in the Rochester, New York area, jot down the night of Thursday, May 24, as booked because there is a cider release that needs to be attended! Seed + Stone Cidery will be finally releasing its long-anticipated ciders at Muller’s Cider House. Guests can sample three of Seed + Stone’s newest varieties: the Heritage, the New England and the Citra. The Heritage is the cidery’s flagship dry cider, made with a mix of heirloom and bittersweet apples. Citra kicks the flavor up a notch with a cider that delivers tropical notes from mangoes, melons and so many more citrusy fruits. That sounds like a mouthful of deliciousness to me!
Jack’s Hard Cider

Have you ever looked at a picture on Instagram and 20 minutes later you find that you have fallen into Alice’s rabbit hole- peering at some random person’s profile or checking out your cart at an Instagram store you never heard of because that tee shirt was just too cute not to get? I do this constantly. All it takes is that one little detail in a post to have me spin into a downward spiral of research and profile-stalking before I realize I am in too deep and forgot how this all started. Well, I tip my hat to you, Jack’s Hard Cider, you really got me this week. You lured me in like bait on a hook because I just HAD to check out every vendor that was on tap for the PA Cider Fest coming up in June. I’m over here looking at profile pictures from Gary’s Pig Roast and deciding between spanakopita or chicken kabobs from It’s all Greek To You before I realized I needed to pull away. It all looks too good! If you haven’t heard of the PA Cider Fest, then you need to go check out all of the great vendors that will be there in June and snag your tickets now!
