Cider Week Colorado & The Pressed Conference Return to Denver (May 22–28)

Cider Week Colorado and The Pressed Conference are making a triumphant return to Denver on May 22–28 for a weeklong celebration and cider festival that will bring together cidermakers, enthusiasts, aficionados and orchardists from the Rocky Mountain region.

“Cider is really happening now! But actually it’s been happening for a while, we’re just getting the word out,” Dick Dunn, president of the Rocky Mountain Cider Association (RMCA), said. “The Pressed Conference will put an amazing number and diversity of ciders out for people to try, and Cider Week Colorado will bring it home to their restaurants and bars.” The RMCA, an organization of commercial producers of hard cider and perry in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, works to promote the understanding and appreciation of quality cider in the region, helps producers and suppliers find one another and work together for common goals and coordinates events to develop the craft cider industry in the region.

The RMCA and several Denver cideries are hosting events throughout the week. Guests are invited to get a behind-the-scenes experience into cidermaking, meet the people behind the presses and explore all the cider that the Rocky Mountain region has to offer.

“We want people to understand that this is local and regional. We’re not Napa and Sonoma; we’re Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona,” added Dunn. “The cider is OUR cider, not something distant … we’re making something that is a part of us, a part of our history and our evolving traditions.”

To cap off the week, the second annual The Pressed Conference, presented by Molly’s Spirits, will take place on Saturday, May 27, at Denver’s Highlands Masonic Temple. The largest craft cider festival in Colorado, The Pressed Conference will feature unlimited tasting from dozens of cideries hailing from across the mountain west. Tickets and more information can be found online.
