Cider Cocktail Recipe: Harvest Cider Negroni

As chilly weather settles in, a nice strong cider cocktail might be just want you’re looking for at the end of the day. We were inspired by the Spice Queen cardamom-infused cider from Cedar Draw Cider that’s included in the NW Cider Club‘s Winter Box. The theme of this box is Big Sky Country, and it features six unique, handpicked ciders from cideries in Montana and Idaho, like the cozy cider from Cedar Draw, a nanocidery based in Buhl, ID. The bright juiciness of apples and citrusy, woodsy character of cardamom make it a perfect ingredient to jazz up a classic Negroni for autumn or wintertime!

Check out our video for step-by-step instructions on how to make a Harvest Cider Negroni, and use the recipe to make yourself one at home! Don’t forget to sign up for the NW Cider Club’s Winter Box by November 17, 2021 for guaranteed delivery by mid-December.

Harvest Cider Negroni

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. barrel-aged gin (regular gin is okay, too)
  • 1 oz. sweet vermouth

  • Orange peel, for garnish

Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1 ounce each of barrel-aged gin and sweet vermouth. Stir until the shaker is almost too cold to hold.
  2. Strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass, then top with Cedar Draw Cider Spice Queen. Garnish with a piece of orange peel.
