The Double Tap List: The Best of #Cider on Instagram (Feb. 3-9)

Happy Friday, fellow #cidergeeks! What an eventful week it has been!

The arrival of Friday means it’s time for a new version of The Double Tap List, our roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content on Instagram. The #ciderworld was full of activity this week, with parties, prepping for the Olympics and that little event called the Super Bowl!

Check out some of our favorite ‘grams from February 3–9:

Virginia Cider

Cider Con 2018 was an amazing event, and I am sure I speak for many when I say the anticipation for 2019’s event is already underway! Max’s Tap House in Baltimore was one of the places to be during the week-long event, with tons of Cider Week Baltimore activity. This snap from from Virginia Cider captures some of the cider-love happening at Max’s. We hope to see everyone at next year’s event!

Ironbound Hard Cider

What a game that was! Way to go, Philadelphia Eagles! (Sorry, New England folks — we’re based in Pennsylvania, so you know where our allegiance is!) Ironbound Hard Cider toasted the Birds’ win with a glass of its New Jersey-made cider in an epic Eagle’s-logo glass. The vintage look is fantastic and they definitely need to make more of these! For now, though, we will settle for having a glass of its tasty cider made with apples sourced from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New England. Here is a list of all of the locations where you can have a glass of Ironbound’s cider.

Swilled Dog Hard Cider

Lesson #1 in etiquette: Don’t ever show up to a party empty-handed! Unsure of what to bring? I guarantee that a sixer of Swilled Dog Hard Cider will do the trick. Its flagship varieties include Walk the Dog, a semi-dry cider, and Bunny Slope, which is the perfect introduction to cider for all of the craft-beer-lovers at your party! Check out its website for more information on these delicious ciders and where you can get your six-pack.

The Cider Junction

The Winter Olympics start this week! (Can you tell I’m excited??) I love watching the opening ceremonies. You can just feel all of the energy of the crowd in that moment. So, if you are just as excited as me and you also love a great glass of cider, well then you are in luck! The Cider Junction in San Jose will be featuring the 2018 Olympic broadcasts at its bistro and bottle shop from February 9 through February 25. It will also be featuring a special Opening Ceremony cider-flight deal, where guests can sample five 4-ounce pours of their choice in cider for $12. That’s a great deal! Don’t forget to take a peek at The Cider Junction’s menu when you’re there because the pulled pork sliders, made with cider braised pork with apple slaw and mustard cider BBQ sauce, sound amazing!
