The Double Tap List: The Best of #Cider on Instagram (Oct. 7–13)

Happy Friday the 13th, #ciderlovers! What an eventful week it’s been. We are elated that the weekend is finally here!

The arrival of Friday means a new installment of The Double Tap List: our picks from the most notable and like-worthy #cider content on Instagram. The #ciderworld has been buzzing this week with news about Columbus Day, festive cider events and Friday the 13th.

Of course, there has also been an outpouring of love, support and sadness over the fires in Northern California, where so many wineries, cideries and breweries call home. We’ve seen lots of great ‘grams about fundraisers and other forms of material support. To help out fire victims, here’s a link to an Amazon wish list organized by wine writer Marissa Ross. These supplies will be shipped directly to the Mentor Me program at the Cavanagh Recreation Center in Petaluma, Calif., which is hosting 500 evacuees as well as distributing supplies. You can also send donations to the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, the Sonoma County Resilience Fund and the Napa Valley Community Foundation.

Okay, back to Instagram! Check out some of our favorites from October 7–13:

Brooklyn Cider House

Oktoberfest season is woefully incomplete without German sausages! Brooklyn Cider House was taste testing lots of delicious sausages for its Sausage, Sauerkraut and Cider event over Columbus Day weekend. It’s hard not to be tempted to indulge in some of those bratwursts with a glass of Brooklyn’s Kinda Dry. Prost!

1859 Cider Co.

Karen really needs to pay better attention. 1859 Cider Co. is in the Halloween spirit with this funny post. Even Stan the Skeleton (we named him) enjoys one of 1859’s refreshing ciders, like the medium-bodied Pear Ginger or the Cherrians, a medium-bodied variety with notes of tart cherries. Remember, Stan told you the cidery opens at 3 p.m. this weekend.

Ironbound Hard Cider

What are you up to this weekend? You should join Ironbound Hard Cider this Saturday at the Central Jersey Beer Festival, held at The Festival Grounds in Mercer County Park. Come celebrate great craft beverages, live music and delicious food. Be sure to use the coupon code “Ironbound” when purchasing your tickets at CJBeerFest.com for 15% off your tickets!

Tilted Shed Ciderworks

Northern California is experiencing unspeakable devestation from the wildfires that are tearing across the region. Homes, belongings and even lives have been lost in this tragic event. Tilted Shed Ciderworks pitched in to the relief effort by generously donating cider for auction at last night’s North Bay Love Fire Benefit. Thank you, Tilted Shed, for showing that we all can and should give back to our communities in times of need.

Mountain West Hard Cider

Yoga and cider? Yes, please! What a great way to wind down after a long day at work. Mountain West Hard Cider and The Beer Yogis hosted a relaxing event, where attendees could sip on some of Mountain West’s craft ciders while perfecting their warrior poses and finding their inner zen. Namaste!

Julian Hard Cider

You know it wouldn’t be Friday the 13th without a little bit of Michael! Julian Hard Cider understands what we mean! It looks like Michael will be indulging in some of Julian’s Pearanormal before going on his normal slashfest today! Watch out, Jamie Lee Curtis!

Bonus!

A shameless plug for myself and Cider Culture! Thank you to Bold Rock Hard Cider for reaching out and featuring my photo from a great day enjoying some tasty cider in North Carolina! Happy Cider Day, everyone!
