The Double Tap List: The Best of #Cider on Instagram (July 7-13)

Happy Friday the 13th, my #ciderfriends! I hope everyone, especially those of you out there who are suffering from triskaidekaphobia, are enjoying a nice end to a long week!

Let’s celebrate the end of another week with a brand-new version of The Double Tap List, our weekly roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content that we discovered on Instagram in the past seven days. A lot is happening in these final days of the World Cup (England lost, #itsnotcominghome). But there’s much to celebrate here in the U.S., including a new cider week, annual events and popsicles. (Yes, we can celebrate popsicles, it’s almost 90 degrees outside!)

Check out some of our favorite ‘grams from July 7-13:

Anything But Beer

Just in case you’re in the market for new employment, Anything But Beer is currently hiring! Located in Syracuse, NY, Anything But Beer is a company created from a passion for their community and the hopes to help cater to the underserved masses. For those that may have dietary restrictions that prevent them from enjoying a glass of beer, to those who just don’t enjoy the taste of beer, Anything But Beer is the answer to your alcoholic beverage woes! So, if you just so happen to be a cider maker and you fancy the opportunity to display your skills, contact Anything But Beer at contact@anythingbutbeer.com, and be sure to attach a resumé and a good ‘ol description telling the Anything But Beer team about how awesome you really are!

Parkway Tavern

If you are looking for a way to celebrate this Friday the 13th, then Parkway Tavern has your night covered! The Tacoma, Washington-based haunt is hosting a Cider Night featuring some dangerously delicious cider. On tap will be Reverand Nat’s Viva la Pineapple, One Tree’s Lemon Basil and other selections from local NW cideries. Oh, and they have Seattle Cider’s Tangerine Turmeric on the Randall! I’m there!

Tilted Shed Ciderworks

There’s some exciting news coming out of Sonoma County, California: The 1st-Annual Sonoma County Cider Week is coming this August! Who else is super-excited?! From August 3rd through August 12th, the cider makers of Sonoma County will band together to create 10 fun-filled days of cider fun. The event will take place in various locations throughout the county. The goal is to showcase the diversity of their ciders and educate consumers about Sonoma County’s long-standing apple heritage. All of this is also happening for an amazing cause, as well. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the North Bay Just & Resilient Future Fund. Learn more about this event here.

Original 13 Ciderworks

Did someone say BOOZY ICE POPS??! Original 13 Ciderworks did! They are bringing back the classic summer treat and then they did something amazing with it: THEY PUT CIDER INTO IT! Well, if you are in the Philadelphia neighborhood, I would highly suggest heading to their Kensington, Pa. cidery to try these out. I hear Ghost Pepper Mango Pops are on the menu — talk about packing some heat with your sweet! Save one for me, please, @original13ciderworks!

Portland Cider Company

Portland Cider Company is a sponsor of this year’s Portland Highland Games and it is giving away two tickets to next weekend’s event! If you haven’t been to one of these events, then you need to enter Portland Cider’s Instagram contest! It’s a great time I would know — I spent the better part of my childhood competing in the dance competitions at these events. (Another fun fact: wool does not feel nice in the heat! Please do not try to convince me otherwise.) But, part of the fun of winning these tickets is that you don’t have to wear any wool to attend the festivities! Yay! Check out Portland Cider’s Instagram post for more details.

BONUS!!

Attention, Ladies and Gentlemen: If you are looking for a new marketing strategy for your company and want to drive traffic to your brick-and-mortar, Runcible Cider has a solution for you: Grab a chalkboard, write the name of your company, draw a huge arrow on the board pointing right at your store, then put a puppy next to it. I can guarantee you will see a spike in your sales this month! Thanks, @runciblecider!

The only way to stay cool in this hot summer heat! Right, @boldrockhardcider?
