Sonoma Cider Closes its Taproom and Restaurant in Healdsburg, CA

We’re sad to report the closing of Sonoma Cider‘s taproom and restaurant in Healdsburg, California.

According to an article published on March 29 in The Press Democrat, Sonoma Cider’s Chief Executive Officer David Cordtz said in a statement that the company “suddenly and without warning” lost its investor funding. Doors to the taproom were closed on Wednesday, March 28. The article reports that the “entire operations” have been shut down, though neither Sonoma Cider’s website nor social media accounts have acknowledged this. There was a Facebook post on April 1, saying that it had updated business hours, and its Yelp page is now reporting it closed.

Though the company was founded in 2013, the space at 44F Mill St. in Healdsburg had only been open for a year. Sonoma Cider drew tourists and cider fans with its wide selection of ciders, including limited runs (like The Jax Breakfast Cereal cider), micro-releases and core brands from Sonoma Cider. Great wine, beer and cocktails were on offer, as well. A full food menu offered more than the average cidery cheese plate with oysters, small plates, salads, sandwiches, entrees and more.

We’ll report more as we learn more details. But, for now, our condolences to the team at Sonoma Cider, and we wish you the best of luck in your future cider endeavors.
