She knows a key technique with working in retail – convincing the customer that they need the product by batting the puppy eyes! March Madness is heating up, as the Final Four will kick off this weekend. The Cider Junction’s brackets are equally as heated, with the Ferocious Fruit division in a neck-and-neck battle! Who will come out reigning supreme?? 2 Towns Ciderhouse’s Pacific Pineapple is up against Schilling Hard Cider’s Emerald City. Juicy and tropical vs. full-bodied and berry-licious. Twin Star Orchards

It’s that time of year again! Spring has sprung, flowers are blooming and the orchards we were so sad to see close for the winter are reopening! Twin Star Orchards, in New Paltz, NY, will be reopening for the 2018 season this Sunday, April 1st! From 11 a.m.-7 p.m., guests at the orchard can visit the farmstand, shop for fresh produce and local products, all while sampling cider from Brooklyn Cider House’s new tasting room. If a burger is what you are craving, then head over to the orchard’s pavilion, where wood-fired pizzas, burgers and other snacks are available this Sunday from 12 p.m.-7 p.m. For more on the orchard and their hours of operation, see here.
Pivot Brewing Company

Envision a lemon. It’s beautiful, pure and bright with a vibrant yellow hue. The enlightening smell of fresh citrus aroma takes over your body as you slice into the zesty, hard rind. The mental images of the lemon definitely elicit feelings of relaxation. The scent of lemon cleanses our senses, leaving us feeling purified and calm. Aromatherapy is a fantastic way to purge your body, both mentally and physically. For those interested in learning more about the benefits of essential oils, Pivot Brewing Company hosted an event Thursday, March 29th, where guests met with a representative from Young Living essential oils. If your idea of purifying the body includes a delicious cider, then try Pivot’s Kentucky Sunrise, a mouthful of cherry, pear and apple flavors that will refresh you and your palate.

Endless amounts of screaming kids… Battles over who found the egg first… Enough chocolate eggs and jelly beans to keep a child’s adrenaline pumping for days… Yep, it’s that time of year again! Time for the annual Easter egg hunt, where you are caught up in the chaos. Hopefully, if you are one of the lucky few, you will be heading to Hard Scrabble Cider’s egg hunt. Yes, I’m sure the day will be filled with more mayhem than an Allstate commercial. But, there will also be cider! So, head on over to Hard Scrabble’s North Salem taproom and enjoy your own Easter treat. I hear Hardscrabble’s Dry cider really takes the edge off an afternoon of disarray.
