The Double Tap List: The Best of #Cider on Instagram (April 21–27)

Happy Friday, my #ciderculture friends! April is coming to a close, and the month felt like it flew by. We had so many great #instagrammoments from the cider community this month, but we are not done yet!

The arrival of Friday means we’ve got a brand-new version of The Double Tap List for you, our weekly roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content on Instagram. It is all about food and fun this week, #ciderlovers! Donuts and soft pretzels for National Pretzel Day are on the menu, and though they are not exactly beach-body fare, we can worry about our waistlines later.

Check out some of our favorite ‘grams from April 21–27:

2 Towns Ciderhouse

Talk about an awesome #TBT! I’m digging the epic-ly long hair that one of the co-founders now sports. Six years can change so much, especially when it comes to a business. 2 Towns Ciderhouse stands by its original mission that it’s had since the beginning. Through both fresh ingredients and a fresh process, it’s bringing cider back to its former glory, one glass at a time. The quality product is always on point, especially the flagship varieties, including Made Marion. I was lucky enough to be able to try this great cider on my trip to Oregon and marionberries are now my new favorite fruit! See here for more #cider eye candy.

Henry Cider

Our cider friends across the globe in Australia are hosting an event this Saturday, April 28, that is sure to be a howling good time (I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist!). The Siberian Husky Club of Victoria will be at the Henry of Harcourt‘s cidery at 10:30 a.m. to wow the crowds with demonstrations and workshops with its beautiful Huskies. Cider and puppies are always a fun combination!

Henry of Harcourt, in Harcourt, Victoria, prides itself on additive-free, quality cider that tastes amazing and is good for you. If you happen to be in their Australian neighborhood, check out where you can find some of Henry of Harcourt’s bottled cider deliciousness here.

Pivot Brewing Company

I love the arrival of May: the warmer weather, the spring flowers in full bloom and all of the fun festivities that go along with this season. The first Saturday of May brings the arrival of the annual Kentucky Derby, a long-standing horse race tradition marking the first race within the Triple Crown. The event is steeped in tradition, including the ever-glamorous Derby hat, and this hat is completing all of my Derby #hatgoals! Tell me this man did not completely nail it!

Pivot Brewing Company is hosting its own competition of outlandish Derby head dressings on Saturday, May 5. The Derby Hats and Pinata Bats Competition will have various prizes for those who enter. Participants should arrive with their hats between 11 a.m. and noon at Pivot’s tasting room to have their hat showcased throughout the day. Want to vote? Purchase a drink at the taproom that day to be able to vote for your favorite. Winners will be selected that evening before the race at 6:30 p.m.

Speakeasy Donuts + Far From The Tree Cider

This weekend, Far From The Tree Cider is hosting a Sunday Funday event not to be missed! Speakeasy Donuts will be bringing the decadent treats to this cider-and-donut party on April 29 with a special donut menu being featured. I cannot get over these Baby Groot Donuts, though! How adorable are these? I almost would not be able to eat these because I love Groot so much. (But, who am I kidding? Of course I could eat this!) The really amazing part is that these Spicy Pineapple Upside Down Cake donuts are made from Far From The Tree’s Lei Hard Cider, a pineapple jalapeño cider. My mouth is watering just thinking about all of this sweet/spicy flavor! Check out more about this event on SpeakEasy Donut’s Facebook page.

Fly Creek Cider Mill

Friday, April 27, is National Pretzel Day and every lover of this salty, twisted carb knot is rejoicing over this beloved baked bread. There will always be a battle over what the preferred condiment is for these baked goods. I will sometimes order a soft pretzel just because I know that it will be accompanied by warm, gooey cheese dip. Some people swear by a sweet cinnamon and sugar concoction that turns that snack into a full-blown dessert. If there’s one accouterment that everyone agrees on, it is mustard! Fly Creek has the answer to your soft pretzel topping needs with its honey mustard pretzel dip. Both sweet and salty, this is a great dip for not only pretzels but ham, breadsticks — and, basically, any food vessel will do. Shop Fly Creek’s online store for this honey mustard and so many more great dips. I have my eye on you, red raspberry honey mustard!
