The Double Tap List: The Best of #Cider on Instagram (Dec. 2–8)

It’s Friday again, #ciderlovers, and we are happy it is finally here! This week has been filled with festive cheer, even as we worry about the fires that loom over Southern California.

The arrival of Friday means a new version of The Double Tap List, our roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content on Instagram. The #ciderworld has been full of activity this week, with updates and support for the fire-stricken California communities, and important dates in our nation’s history. Check out some of our favorites from December 2–8:

101 Cider House

Thank you, 101 Cider House, for this heartfelt message and reminder that the danger in Southern California’s community should be at the forefront of our minds and hearts. Please remember those who are currently being affected by this terrible situation and, if possible, please help donate to the recovery effort. One place to donate is through the American Red Cross’ California Wildfires Donation Page.

Gorge Cider Society

That's a lot of cider!

Fact: There was a lot of cider being produced and consumed by Americans in the Revolutionary days of our nation. That fun fact comes courtesy of Gorge Cider Society!

Sociable Cider Werks

Who needs dinner when you can have cupcakes and cider?! This is a collaboration we are 100% behind: Sociable Cider Werks and Dulceria Bakery joined forces on December 7th to feature cider and cupcake pairings at the Great NE Make Merry Holiday Market in Minneapolis. If you missed this week’s event, the market returns to Sociable Cider Werks on Thursdays, December 14 and 21, from 4–9 p.m.

Western Cider

What a creative event! Western Cider hosted an event with Board of Missoula on December 7, offering a “waxing” tune up of your snowboard or skis when you purchased a cider. What an awesome way to get this winter season started!

The more you know….

Get it straight, everyone! This was one post that was flying around Instagram this week, with reposts left and right. I guess everyone just wants to make sure the world knows there’s a difference with the processes of creating cider, beer and wine. So, #cidercommunity, let’s keep learning and keep our cider vocabulary straight. One word makes a huge difference in our world! Thanks for always keeping us educated, USACM.

BONUS!

December 5, 1933 was an important day in American history because it was the day Prohibition was overturned. Cheers to the 84th anniversary. Clearly, these ladies aren’t as zealous about this as we currently are.

I need these socks!! #bringmeacider
